Fixing The specified service has been marked for deletion

Well, chances are, you're trying to uninstall a windows service.

This error tends to happen when you don't stop the service before attempting to uninstall it or/and some associated process or handle hangs around, preventing the service from being uninstalled.

One common culprit is services.msc - it's particularly bad because if you've stopped the service before running your uninstaller, you probably still have the services.msc window open.

Before you go restarting the machine etc, MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE SERVICES.MSC, in your session and any other active rdp session.

If you close and reopen the console, you'll probably find that your service has now been successfully deleted.

Solved with zero efforts, yippee :)

How to Tweak the New Multi-Monitor Taskbar in Windows 8

For years, users have wondered why on earth Microsoft wouldn’t make the taskbar customizable and usable across multiple monitors. The release of Windows 8 won’t tell us why it took so long, but at least we’ll get some new features. Here’s a quick look for those that haven’t already seen them. The new Taskbar in Windows 8 finally spans multiple monitors, and can be customized so that the taskbar buttons on each monitor are the buttons for windows open on that monitor. You can also make both taskbars show all windows if you choose. To access the new settings, head into Taskbar Properties by right-clicking on the Taskbar and choosing Properties.
